My, my ... it's January 12 and I have finished two projects!!!!! First up, Polar Bear Snow Globe by Bent Creek. Sorry, no photo as of yet. Off to the framer I go! One down, 15 to go!
The next finish wasn't on my long list of 15 but it was something I had started at the close of 2010 so I turned it into 15A! It was a little "Mad Scientist/Stitcher" experiment I undertook. It went so much better than that time in college when I came pretty darn close to blowing up a chemistry lab (it wasn't my fault, really! And yes, I did change majors after that.) It's Lizzie Kate's "Don't Get Your Tinsel in a Tangle." OK. If I'm going to tangle my tinsel, I want it to look like tinsel! So some big ol' 10-count Tula, a handful of #5 perle cottons and a card of Precious Metals by Rainbow Gallery and voila, I tangled my tinsel. The photo was snapped before I had snipped the ends of the bow on the package. Now to decide how I'm going to finish it. Decisions, decisions!
Happy stitching to everyone! I'm off to find a project that proves I can stitch on something besides 18-count linen or 10-count tula! : )

What a great idea for the tinsel! That's something I'll tuck away in my mind for future reference.
ReplyDeleteJust an FYI if anyone gets a hankering to tangle some tinsel, you only need to execute a half stitch when working with Precious Metals on 10-count fabric.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job! Love the tinsel idea (she says as she jots it down for future reference).
